Cookie Policy
Effective date: August 26, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how ThisIsMN ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar storage on thisis.mn. For how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
Cookies we set
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work and are set without a consent prompt:
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Session cookies (set by our sign-in service) | Keep you signed in and protect your session | Session, or until sign-out |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remember your language choice (English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali) | Persistent |
| consent | Record your cookie-consent choice | 30 days |
Optional analytics
If you allow analytics in the cookie banner, we load a privacy-focused analytics script (Umami) that measures page usage in aggregate. It does not set advertising cookies, does not build cross-site profiles, and does not follow you to other websites. If you decline, the script is not loaded. Analytics runs only on our production site.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal information.
Local storage
Like most modern sites, we use your browser's local storage for interface preferences (for example, theme and saved-view choices). This data stays in your browser and is not used to track you across sites.
Your choices
- Use the cookie banner to allow or decline optional analytics. To change your choice later,
clear the
consentcookie for thisis.mn and the banner will ask again. - Your browser lets you block or delete cookies for any site. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and language persistence from working.
Changes
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change, and post the update here with a new effective date.
