This Mobile Privacy Policy explains how ThisIsMN ("ThisIsMN," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the ThisIsMN application for iOS or Android, the mobile API that supports the application, and the hosted account pages opened from the application. ThisIsMN is a Minnesota business-directory service operated from Minnesota, United States. You can contact us at support@thisis.mn.
This policy does not govern the independent websites, applications, or services of businesses listed in the directory. Their own privacy terms apply when you leave ThisIsMN or contact them.
When you create or use a ThisIsMN account, we collect information such as your name, email address, account identifier, email-verification status, and authentication information. Passwords are processed through our authentication service and are not stored as readable plaintext. The mobile application may also receive profile information you previously provided through a ThisIsMN hosted account page.
When you sign in, we collect a platform-scoped device identifier, device platform, model, operating system version, application version, IP address, user agent, session tokens, and session activity times. We use this information to bind sessions to a device, prevent unauthorized access, refresh sessions, diagnose failures, and revoke access when you sign out or delete your account. We do not request or use an advertising identifier for the private-beta application.

Approved reviews may be visible to other ThisIsMN users. Do not include sensitive personal information in a review.
With your permission, the application processes precise foreground location to show nearby businesses, calculate distance, position the map, and provide augmented-reality navigation. The application sends coordinates to the ThisIsMN mobile API when they are needed to return location-aware results. This private beta does not request background location.
You can decline or revoke location permission in your device settings. If you decline, the application uses non-location defaults where available, while nearby, distance, map-positioning, and AR features may be limited.
The application requests camera access only when you enter AR navigation. The active private-beta flow processes the camera view on your device to display navigation overlays. It does not capture or upload photos, video, or audio. This private beta does not request microphone or motion/activity permission.
We process search terms, selected filters, API requests, network responses, and security or error information needed to return results, synchronize offline actions, protect the service, and diagnose failures. Our mobile package does not include an advertising SDK or a third-party mobile analytics SDK.
The application stores session credentials in operating-system protected storage and keeps theme preferences, cached directory information, pending offline actions, and synchronized records in local application storage. A successful in-app account deletion clears the application's local account data. Your operating system also lets you remove local application data by uninstalling the application or clearing its storage.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use mobile data for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the private-beta mobile application does not track you across applications or websites owned by other companies.
We may disclose information in these limited circumstances:
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Short-lived access credentials expire automatically; device sessions and refresh credentials are revoked when you sign out or delete the account. Reviews and other active mobile content are kept until you remove them, moderation requires removal, or the account is deleted. Local cached data remains on the device until it is cleared by the application, the operating system, or the user.
When account deletion succeeds, ThisIsMN revokes authentication and device sessions; deletes mobile reviews and related interactions, notifications, favorites, saved searches, non-audit activity and search history, device records, and mobile preferences; and replaces identifying fields in the retained core account record with anonymous deletion values. The application then clears its local account database and protected credentials.
We may retain narrowly limited records when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction, booking, dispute, or compliance purposes. We separate or anonymize retained records where reasonably possible and keep them only for the applicable obligation or limitation period. Routine backups are protected and age out under operational backup schedules rather than being restored to active use after a verified deletion.
You can delete your account in the application from Profile > Delete account. If you cannot access the application, use our mobile account deletion page to submit a request. We may verify your identity before acting on an external request.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a denied privacy request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Because ThisIsMN does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out needed for the active private-beta mobile application. We do not respond differently to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals for the mobile application because it does not perform that tracking.
We use HTTPS for mobile network traffic, short-lived access credentials, device-bound refresh flows, protected device storage, access controls, and logging intended to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
ThisIsMN is operated from the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. When applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or additional safeguards, we will use appropriate contractual or legal protections.
The account features in the ThisIsMN mobile application are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as required.
We may update this policy when the application, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
